The Strange Color of Your Body’s Tears, also known as “L’etrange Couleur Des Larmes De Ton Corps”, was picked up by Strand Releasing today.
This French-Belgian thriller by Bruno Forzani and Hélène Cattet, who are partnered with Bac Films, gave up all of there North American rights to Stand Releasing. The deal was reportedly sealed and signed by Bac Films’ Clementine Hugot and Strand Releasing’s Jon Gerrans.
The Strange Color of Your Body’s Tears world premiered in Locarno, then to Toronto, and now is headed for a festival in the U.S. At this time Strand is hoping for a late summer release in the U.S. Bac Films is excited to announce the distribution on this film to the U.S. alongside Koch Media for the German, Alto Media for South Korea, and Njutafilms for Sweden.
The head of sales at Bac Films, Gilles Sousa will still head the French release in March of 2014. Once this film has gone world-wide there is no telling what this film will achieve. Be sure to check back as more news on this film develops.
So what is Strange Color of Your Body’s Tears about?
Dan Kristensen (Klaus Tange) returns home to his apartment and cannot seem to find his wife, Edwige (Ursula Bedena) anywhere. It is as if she has vanished into thin air. Dan cannot help himself by trying to investigate what happened to his wife. Maybe she is dead somewhere or the obvious, she left him for another man? Whatever is going on just keeps getting creepier and more surreal. No one believes him, no one will help him, what is left for him to do? His search for Edwige goes beyond obsessive and falling into his own madness begins to overtake him. What is real anymore? His nightmares and dreams are no longer separate as he spirals more and more to the depths of insanity.
