Amityville 3-D 1983 Review

amittyvile 3d house review

Amityville 3-D came out in 1983 and was directed by Richard Fleischer.

I decided to give this movie a shot since it was rated 4/5 stars on Netflix. Naturally I would think that this would be a pretty good film based off of these ratings (yet I have been fooled before). Damn was I wrong, so horribly wrong! If I could take back the hour and a half it took me to watch it I would in a heartbeat.

So what’s Amityville 3-D about anyways?

Reporters are trying to figure out what is going on in the house and prove that it is all a ‘hoax’ once and for all. Lead reporter John Baxter decides to buy the home himself to prove a point when things start to go horribly wrong for those around him.

Where the film went wrong.

Where did it not? It was super draggy, I wish I could of turned it off after 5 minutes but I proceeded to watch the horrible film through its entirety. Flies in the attic that ‘kill’ people, freaky or just super gross? Beams of light that are ‘ghosts’, thank you low budget effects it was truly a gem to be missed! Oh and don’t forget that elevators when they stop working and go up-down-up-down super fast I am peeing in my pants of terror. Things like this only ever happen in the movies right? To me the scariest part might of been finally seeing the face of the monster, well at least it made me chuckle a bit.

Was there any saving grace to this film?

For me, that is a definite no! It was super shitty, boring as hell, and overall just lost valuable time of my life to watch it. Whoever rated this film overall as 4/5 stars I would love to hear why. Yes the film was done in the 80’s so I can give it at least some credit for the time of filming. So to those that actually enjoyed this film, let’s talk. To those that are on the same page as me, at least I know that people can still be honest with themselves and show good judgment.

Either way I’m going to tell it like it is, whether you agree or not. I honestly now need to watch something to awaken my brain from the mush it has truly become.

If you don’t believe me yet, Check out this trailer for shits and giggles!

Bleeding out!
